Introduction

People often ask me what kind of Yoga I teach because there’s a wide and often confusing mixture of styles. You may have heard of Hot Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Vinyasa Power Yoga or others. They all have value; it’s simply a matter of what you’re looking for at this point in your life. The qualities you can expect from a Harmony Yoga class are:

  • A pace slow enough to be contemplative while still getting a good stretch.
  • Unity of breath and movement.
  • Variety of posture sequences enhanced by incorporating the philosophy and teachings of Yoga.

Gentle Day Yoga

Description:

This class is an invitation to slow down and savor each simple pose by focusing on your breath and body. Gentle movement often releases stiffness or pain caused by aging, health conditions or over exercising. Many of the poses are done from a lying on your back position, and there are some seated and standing poses. All poses can be modified for individual needs. Classes begin with breath focused centering as a way to move away from daily routine and toward a more relaxed state of awareness. This is followed by warm ups to wake up and warm muscles and joints. Then there are poses to provide a satisfying stretch followed by a deep and restorative relaxation.

Schedule:
  • Tuesday 9:00am – 10:30am
  • Thursday 9:00am – 10:30am

Evening All Levels Yoga Classes

Description:

This class is suitable if you are a beginner or more experienced student looking to explore a wide range of poses to strengthen and stretch your body and calm your mind. You’ll learn principles of breathing and healthy alignment that can ease your body and reduce stress. Not every pose works for every body, so modifications that consider the unique needs of each person are available. Poses are often held for brief periods, but the pace is slow as students are encouraged to savor every movement. Expect to leave feeling more flexible and calm but energized.

  • Thursday 7:00 – 8:30PM

Saturday All Levels Yoga

Description:
